Situated on the east coast of the island of Sri Lanka, Trincomalee makes for a great dive destination between the months from April through October.
One of the oldest cities in Asia, Trincomalee has served as an ancient maritime port, used first by the Pallavas and Cholas and then a succession of Colonials. Today the sea around Trincomalee is littered with ship wrecks, making it one of the best wreck dives sites in the whole of Sri Lanka!
Add to this the robust growth of corals that surround the uninhabited Pigeon Island. The waters around Trincomalee are also home to a host of Anemones, a variety of Rays, Pufferfish, Moray Eels and schools of Snappers.
